Sound Therapy

Sound Healing

I started with sound healing 30 years ago using a set of John Beauleu tuning forks at the time it was mainly used off the body. I found that all this worked well as most clients required more hands-on physical therapies. Just a few, usually other therapists or folks who were deep into their healing through meditation or yoga received the best results.

In 2025 I moved my practice to our lovely studio in our garden which gave me more room to set out my sound healing forks and other instruments for easy access if I felt I was required to use them.

Once when working with a client using myofascial therapy I was struggling to relax and release a difficult shoulder issue. I reached over, picked up my 128 Hz and placed it on the area that felt “stuck” To my and my clients amazement the area released right away as if it had melted.

This is the beginning for me to use Sound with hands on treatment.

Sound healing works by using vibrations and specific frequencies from instruments like singing bowls, gongs, and tuning forks to guide the brain into meditative states, calm the nervous system, and promote deep relaxation, helping the body realign its own resonant frequencies to reduce stress and support physical and emotional healing. It functions through principles of resonance and entrainment, where the body’s natural vibrations (especially as it’s mostly water) respond to external sound waves, promoting balance and self-repair at a cellular level.

How it Works:

Vibration & Resonance:
Everything vibrates, including our bodies; stress can lower our frequency. Sound healing introduces harmonious vibrations that encourage the body to return to its optimal, balanced frequency.

Brainwave Entrainment:
Different sound frequencies influence brainwaves, shifting them from active thinking (Beta) to relaxation (Alpha) and meditation (Theta) states, fostering restorative processes.

Nervous System Regulation:
The soothing sounds stimulate the autonomic nervous system, which controls involuntary functions, helping to lower heart rate, reduce stress, and calm the body’s stress response.

Cellular & Physical Effects:
The vibrations travel through the body, interacting with water and cells, which can help release tension, manage pain, and support cellular repair, much like how modern medicine uses sound waves to break up kidney stones.

What Happens During Sound and Hands on Treatment 60 min

Depending on what the issues that are needing to be addressed from your assessment I will tune in and assess what feels is required from your body on a physical level and use Carinal Sacral, Myofascial, Emmett or Reflexology and Sound and blend a treatment that your system needs at this time. Normally no treatments are the same as your body will require a different blend of treatments.
